CONSIDERATION OF THE FOLLOWING BIDS

Item 15: Consideration of the following Bids:
a) Purchase of one (1) 2023 Ford F450 Crew Cab - award to Piedmont Trucks @ a total cost of $148,773.50 (purchases proposed to be made in accordance with Statewide Vehicle Contract and State of North Carolina Term Contract [NCGS 143-129(e) (9)] – Statewide Contract #070A-Fleet Vehicles);
b) Purchase of four (4) 2023 Ford F350 Crew Cab 4x2 Dual Rear Wheel -60” – award to Piedmont Trucks @ a total cost of $303,540.00 (purchases proposed to be made in accordance with Statewide Vehicle Contract and State of North Carolina Term Contract [NCGS 143-129(e) (9)] – Statewide Contract #070A-Fleet Vehicles);
c) Purchase one (1) 2022 John Deere 5090E with Alamo 74” Interstate Mower and Rear Flail Attachments – award to Quality Equipment @ a total cost of $142,408.81 (based on bid awarded by Sourcewell Group Purchasing Program [Contract #070821-AGI- Road Right-of-Way Maintenance Equipment);
d) Re-Bid FY 2023 Road Resurfacing Project - award to Barnhill Contracting @ total cost of $4,917,128.91, plus 5% contingency (contractor is proposing 10% MWBE participation in the amount of $498,675);
e) Purchase two (2) 2022 New Holland B95 Backhoes – award to Premier Equipment Company @ a total cost of $230,580.00 (based on bid awarded by Sourcewell Group Purchasing Program Contract #032119-CNH – Heavy Construction Equipment with related Accessories, Attachments and Supplies)

Recommended Action: 1) Award Bids as Recommended; and
2) Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to Execute the Bid Contract for (d) on
behalf of the City; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Division to Issue Purchase Orders and Execute
Bid Documents on a, b, c and e in Accordance with the Council’s Award

The recommended action is to award the bid as described.
