CONSIDERATION OF TASERS, BODY CAMERAS, AND IN-CAR CAMERA SYSTEMS FOR POLICE CARS AND HOURLY TREE TRIMMING

Item 19: Consideration of the following Bids/Rebids: a) Bid - Tasers, Body Cameras and In-Car Camera Systems for Police Cars - award to Axon Enterprise @ Total Cost of $2,812,745.14 Over Five [5] Year Term (includes 5-year warranty, maintenance agreement, software licensing, taser assurance plan, replacement parts and replacement cameras @ end of term {contract includes new purchases and combines all existing contracts into one}; purchase proposed to be made in accordance with Sole Source procurement [NCGS 143-129(e) (6)]; b) Rebid - Hourly Tree Trimming – award to Xylem, Incorporated; 3-year contract @ cost not to exceed $200,000; proposes 20% MWBE participation; c) Bid - Lump Sum Tree Trimming and Mowing - award to Xylem, Incorporated @ 3-year total cost of $1,581,274.14; includes Option 4 of mowing entire right-of-way for the City’s Electrical System once each year; proposed 20% MWBE participation

Recommended Action: 1) Award Bids/Re-Bids as Recommended; and 2) Authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to Execute Bid Contracts on Behalf of the City
